A delegation from the Omani Lawyers Association met with the Board of Directors of the Spanish Bar Association, the apex body of the lawyers practising in Spain, during its visit to the country.
The heads of the two delegations explained to each other the role and importance of both legal institutions. Dr Hamad bin Hamdan al Rubaie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Omani Lawyers Association, explained the importance of the visit and its impact on the legal and economic aspects between the two countries. He also highlighted the role of the Association in humanitarian work, where it implements an annual humanitarian initiative to relieve the suffering of those imprisoned for non-criminal cases.
Javier Graciaraya, President of the Association, said that the Association in Madrid is one of the oldest associations in the legal field and works in the field of human rights defence. It operates with complete independence, providing impartial services, protecting low-income citizens and providing legal assistance for approximately 170,000 cases and 200,000 legal consultations.
The delegation then paid a visit to the International Arbitration Centre in Madrid, also known as the Madrid International Arbitration Centre (CIAM-CIAR), an institution specialising in the management and resolution of international commercial disputes through arbitration.
