TAQAH: The Youth Development Forum (2nd edition) opened in Taqah under the theme “Empower Today… Lead Tomorrow”, organised by the Office of the Wali of Taqah in cooperation with public- and private-sector partners. The programme runs until 22 September at the multi-purpose hall of the Wali’s office, with support from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Dhofar Branch.
According to the organisers, 175 participants—jobseekers, entrepreneurs and employees—are enrolled in accredited training tracks that include “Artificial Intelligence: Boundless Opportunities” led by Dr Noha Al Daroudi; “Cybersecurity: Protecting Your Digital Self” led by Dr Abdullah Al Zawamri; and “Oman Vision 2040: Aligning Roles to Deliver the Vision” led by Dr Ali Hubais. The forum also features youth project showcases and policy dialogues bringing together agencies responsible for youth affairs with leading entrepreneurs and initiatives from Taqah and the wider Dhofar Governorate, aimed at boosting economic participation and developing entrepreneurial capabilities.
Asmaa Al Maashani, from the Planning and Wilayat Development Department at the Office of the Wali of Taqah, said the forum “is a practical platform to invest in young people’s potential as Oman’s true wealth,” noting that the theme encapsulates “a clear vision for a future built on innovation and knowledge.” She added that the training and side sessions “build skills aligned with labour-market needs and help turn ideas into tangible outcomes that support the growth of Taqah, Dhofar and the Sultanate of Oman,” in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The event is designed to align youth skills with future requirements through structured learning, mentoring and exposure to real-world projects, reinforcing the role of Taqah as a hub for community-driven development and opportunity creation.
