Muscat - Oman Airports announced the launch of a direct air route linking the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Republic of China, starting November 30.


The route is being launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Muscat, and in coordination with China Eastern Airlines.

The new route, via Muscat International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport, will operate two weekly flights on Sundays and Wednesdays using Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 299 seats, enhancing air connectivity and meeting the needs of travelers of all types.

Engineer Ahmed bin Saeed al Amri, CEO of Oman Airports, emphasized that the launch of the direct route between Muscat and Beijing represents a strategic addition to the network of international destinations.


He noted that it will contribute to supporting the tourism and investment sectors and strengthening the Sultanate of Oman's position as a major regional hub in the fields of aviation and logistics services.

For his part, Li Bin, head of the China Eastern team, said that this cooperation reflects the strength of bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Republic of China, and will provide further facilities for travelers and businessmen, in addition to opening up broader horizons for economic and trade exchange.

This launch comes as part of Oman Airports' efforts to expand its air connectivity network with key global destinations. It has launched several new direct routes with many regional and international capitals and cities, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supporting the Sultanate of Oman's plans to develop the tourism sector, attract foreign investment, and enhance air cargo traffic and economic diversification.
