The Ministry of Labour has been diligent in identifying national competencies and substantiating them in response to the demands of the labour market, according to Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development.


Speaking to the Observer on the sidelines of a workshop aimed at activating bilateral cooperation in the field of labour and human resource development with the Kingdom of Bahrain, he mentioned that the workshop symbolises the commitment of both countries to exchange expertise and develop training programmes to meet labour market requirements.


"This meeting is part of the longstanding Omani-Bahraini relations, which are experiencing growth and distinction. The Kingdom of Bahrain has a rich human civilisation and competence, and the workshop demonstrates the commitment of both countries to exchanging expertise and developing training programmes to meet labour market needs," he said.


Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa, Under-Secretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Labour, said, "We appreciate the Omani experience in professional accreditation and labour market regulation, which serves as an inspiring model that can be utilised. Joint meetings help unify visions and expand areas of cooperation for the benefit of the workforce in both countries."


Dr Juma bin Ahmed al Kaabi, Ambassador of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman, expressed that both Oman and Bahrain are ideal models for brotherly relations and are experiencing growth and prosperity.


"This workshop showcases the ideal model between the two countries, which are experiencing growth and prosperity. We are working together to deepen this cooperation, which is based on expertise and knowledge in all sectors, especially human resources," Al Kaabi added.


The workshop, organised by the Ministry of Labour, is rooted in the solid fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain, aiming to activate bilateral cooperation in the field of labour and human resource development.


The two-day workshop aims to exchange expertise and best practices in labour market regulation, training and qualification, as well as explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation to serve the aspirations of both countries in developing human resources and enhancing the efficiency of national cadres.


During the workshop, participants discussed various topics related to modern labour and employment policies, mechanisms to support innovation and entrepreneurship, and successful experiences in empowering youth and women in the labour market.
