It was another Dutch cyclist on the top podium as Jeroen Meijers of Victoria Sports Pro Cycling – Philippines came home in three hours 40 minutes and 35 seconds to win the third stage of the Salalah International Tour 2025 on Tuesday.


Stage 2 winner Adne van Engelen (+2.41) of Terengganu Cycling Team (Malaysia) kept the overall leader’s golden jersey by finishing ninth in the stage.


Belgian rider Wesley van Dyck (Flanders Team – Belgium) came second in third stage (03:40:44) while Ratchanon Yaowarat (03:40:56) of Thailand National Team finished third.


UAE youngster Abdullah al Ali Jassim (+2:41) – who finished sixth – claimed the green jersey for points with 22 points while also taking the white jersey for best young rider classification (10:07:25).


Abdullah (+1.16) also came second in the race for Tour title with leader Adne van Engelen (10:06:09) ahead of the fourth and concluding stage from Dahariz Beach to Wadi Darbat for a distance of 120 km. Sarawut Sirironnachai (+1.28) of Thailand is third in the standings.


Amani Team (Slovenia) became the best team of the stage (11:06:43) in the 154 km stage from Al Haffa Souq to Ayn Ishat.


Algerian Yacine Hamza of Madar Pro Cycling Team – Algeria (+9.00) retained his grey jersey for the aggressive rider classification with 10 points.


Roojai Insurance – Thailand led the general team classification after third stage (30:24:50).


The third stage was flagged off at Al Haffa Souq, passing along Al Haffa Beach, Nasheeb roundabout, Al Mamoura, Tawi Attir Bridge, Ashoor Coast, Darbat waterfalls, Hamran coast, Al Mamoura roundabout, Arzat roundabout, Madayen roundabout, Raysut roundabout, the Frankincense Tree Farm, Adonb Souq, before reaching the finish line at Ayn Ishat.


The winners were crowned by Saif al Rashidi, Chairman of the Oman Cycling Association (OCA).

TOUR OBJECTIVES


According to Ishaq bin Abdullah al Balushi, Tour Director and OCA Board Member, the Tour of Salalah has been promoting the culture of cycling and encourage its practice among society.


“The Omani riders are exposed to world-class competitors and the event has cemented Oman’s presence on the UCI International Cycling Calendar.”


“The Salalah Tour has also been showcasing Dhofar’s natural and cultural assets to the world. So we are using this international event as a tool for both sports development and tourism promotion,” Ishaq added.


15 regional and international teams are taking part from Asia, Europe, and the Gulf.


Among them are Oman National Team, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Thailand, and continental teams including Madar Pro (Algeria), Terengganu Cycling (Malaysia), Amani (Slovenia), Victoria Sports Pro (Philippines), Shimano Racing (Japan) and Flanders (Belgium).
