MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman joins countries around the world in celebrating the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, designated by the United Nations on September 7 of each year to raise global awareness of the issue of air pollution and the need for concerted efforts for a cleaner environment and better health.
This year’s theme is 'Racing for Air'. Every Breath Matters emphasises that clean air is a fundamental human right and that every breath represents a motivation for urgent action to protect the health of individuals and the planet.
The Sultanate of Oman is intensifying its efforts to protect clean air in line with Oman Vision 2040, which places environmental sustainability as a fundamental pillar of comprehensive development. This can be achieved by improving environmental legislation, adopting innovative solutions and encouraging the transition to clean and sustainable energy. — ONA
