MUSCAT: The Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies (ASDS), represented by the Centre for Strategic and Defence Studies and in collaboration with various civilian entities, concluded its Strategic Foresight Programme.

The programme, which began on August 24, saw the participation of specialists from military, security and civilian agencies.

The closing ceremony, held at the Royal Academy of Management (RAM), was presided over by Dr Nasser bin Rashid al Maawali, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy. The programme included a series of lectures and workshops that covered multiple related topics and objectives. Participants also received training on strategic foresight tools and engaged in practical applications of future foresight and strategic analysis.

The programme's key objectives were to embed strategic foresight into national policies, enhance decision-making capabilities through proactive governance methodologies, and develop skills in scenario planning and risk preparedness.

It also aimed to prepare strategic papers that align with global and regional priorities and to anticipate emerging trends and opportunities to strengthen national resilience and competitive advantage. - ONA
