Muscat: The Municipality Department in the Wilayat of al Suwaiq has seized a quantity of rice deemed unfit for human consumption after insects were discovered in the stock.
The inspection team immediately took legal measures against the violating establishment and destroyed 340 kilogrammes of the contaminated rice to prevent it from reaching consumers.
The municipality reaffirmed that such inspections are carried out regularly as part of its drive to monitor food outlets and protect the public from unsafe products. It emphasised that preserving public health and ensuring the safety of food supplies remain among its top priorities.
