Muscat: The Ministry of Education (MoE), in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance (MoF), has announced the rollout of an improved school transport service project in South al Batinah Governorate. The initiative is being implemented through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) programme, represented by the Partnership and Privatisation Unit, in collaboration with Emushrif Company.

The project aims to establish an integrated system for managing government school transport using advanced technologies and monitoring systems, which will help enhance student safety standards, and raise the overall quality of transport services.

The ministry said that the soft launch of the project was carried out during the 2023/2024 academic year in the Wilayat of Barka. The current phase now expands the initiative to cover all schools in South al Batinah during the 2025/2026 academic year.

The comprehensive plan will eventually extend the system across all educational directorates.

According to the ministry, the upgraded service will ensure better efficiency, safety, and reliability for students commuting to and from schools.
