MUSCAT: The Oman Golf Association (OGA) has announced the appointment of Jonathan Bartlett as the new head coach and programme director of the OGA and the national teams.

The announcement was made in the presence of Vice-Chairman Faiz Raiz, Board Member Nikhil Sampat, and Secretary-General Ahmed al Jhedhami, marking an important milestone in OGA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the future of golf in the Sultanate of Oman.

Jonathan brings with him extensive international coaching and player development expertise, with a proven record of nurturing young talent and preparing athletes for high-level competition. In his dual role, he will oversee the development of Oman’s junior and senior national teams, while also designing and implementing long-term training programmes aimed at raising performance standards, building sustainable pathways, and ensuring Omani golfers achieve recognition on regional and international stages.

Speaking on his appointment, Jonathan expressed both gratitude and enthusiasm: “I am honoured to take on this role with the Oman Golf Association. I would like to thank Faiz Raiz, Nikhil Sampat and Ahmed al Jhedhami for the trust they have placed in me. Together, we will build a strong foundation for golf in Oman, developing our players, inspiring the next generation, and competing with pride on the global stage.”

This appointment highlights the OGA’s vision to foster excellence in golf, from grassroots initiatives to elite performance, while creating clear pathways for Omani golfers to achieve international success.
