MUSCAT: The Indian Social Club (ISC) Oman organised a majestic Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2025, at the Oman Auditorium Hall, Al Bustan Palace. This spectacular event was a vibrant tribute to India's rich cultural heritage and the unwavering spirit of patriotism that defines its people.
The ceremony commenced with the arrival of chief guest, Ambassador of India, His Excellency G V Srinivas, accompanied by esteemed dignitaries. The solemn rendition of the Royal anthem of Oman and Indian National anthem set the tone for a grand celebration, with the flags of both nations majestically displayed on a massive LED screen.
The cultural extravaganza started with the audience being enthralled by the soul stirring medley of patriotic songs rendered by ISC’s Open mic singers being complimented by a breathtaking performance by the ISC parent body team of performers with a beautiful fusion of ballet and modern jazz. This was followed by the performances of various linguistic wings of the Indian social club showcasing India's diverse cultural heritage, with each performance highlighting the unique traditions and customs of different regions.
The ISC parent body’s talented performers took center stage to depict the rich culture and heritage of India. Their stellar performance left the audience spellbound, showcasing the nation's unity in diversity.
The Chairman of Indian Social Club Oman, Babu Rajendran in his keynote address to the audience said, “We honor our freedom fighters' bravery and sacrifices, and salute our armed forces' selfless service. Today, we celebrate India's progress, marked by achievements like Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla's historic space mission and our projected rise to the world's third-largest economy by 2027-2028. Let's build a stronger, united, and compassionate India.”
The 'Indian of the Year' award was conferred upon Dr Vaishnav Avirat, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the Indian community.
The Indian Ambassador Shri G V Srinivas delivered an inspiring speech, stirring the audience's patriotic fervor with renditions of iconic patriotic songs. His words echoed the spirit of unity and pride that defines India's identity.
The ISC parent body team brought the house down with a grand finale performance, depicting India's defense forces and the nation's remarkable progress over the years. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by General Secretary Shakeel, expressing gratitude to all sponsors, participants, and attendees.
