Indian couple die in Muscat building collapse after a gas leak

Muscat: An Indian couple died after a residential and commercial building partially collapsed in the Wilayat of Bawshar due to an explosion following a cooking gas leak in a restaurant.


V pankajakashan (59) and his wife Sajitha 53) from the South Indian state of Kerala lived on the floor above the restaurant in the same building. They are survived by a daughter. The relevant authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident.


Rescue and ambulance teams from the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority in Muscat Governorate responded immediately to the incident.
