Salalah: The Governorate of Dhofar has launched the Dhofar Inspiration and Creativity Award – “Dhofar is Told”, during a gathering of media and other partners.
With a clear vision to cement the Governorate of Dhofar’s position as a leading tourism and cultural destination, and within the framework of strategic partnership and institutional integration, the Governorate organised a gathering attended by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and Dr Ahmed bin Mohsen al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, alongside media professionals, representatives of the public and private sectors and, content creators.
The event aimed to honour the successful partners of Khareef Dhofar 2025 Season for their contributions to the success of initiatives and events that support the Governorate’s comprehensive developmental vision.
The gathering witnessed the announcement of the launch of the Dhofar Inspiration and Creativity Award – “Dhofar is Told”; an initiative aimed at empowering creatives and enhancing the media and cultural presence of the Governorate locally and globally.
The Governor of Dhofar emphasised the depth of partnerships that unite the Governorate with various institutions, noting that cooperation has been the cornerstone of a successful season that attracted over one million visitors, with improved visitor satisfaction levels and enhanced services thanks to tourism projects and the development of public facilities.
He said, "You are an integral part of this journey. Your partnership with us does not stop at a single season, but continues every year to create a broad path toward a distinctive and unique tourism experience, one that elevates Dhofar’s name and reflects the civilized face of the Sultanate of Oman. We affirm that the spirit of partnership will remain the foundation of this work, for success is not created by one party, but is the result of integrated efforts."
Al Ghassani praised this initiative, describing it as an open invitation to the world to discover Dhofar as a center for creativity and a hub for talent.
He affirmed that the award represents a practical translation of the Governorate’s strategic vision, supporting the creative industries sector and enhancing Oman’s position as a hub for cultural and knowledge-based creativity and innovation.
He added that the award aims to achieve multiple strategic objectives, including: contributing to the diversification of the national economy through support for the creative industries sector, empowering human talent, and cementing Dhofar’s global standing as a sustainable destination.
He also noted that, to ensure the award’s integrity, a Board of Trustees will be formed comprising figures with expertise in creative, cultural, and media fields, with the adoption of international judging mechanisms and evaluation standards.
The gathering concluded with a shared affirmation that the success of Khareef Dhofar Season is the result of collective work and genuine institutional partnership, and that the Governorate is committed to launching further innovative initiatives that ensure the creation of sustainable opportunities, strengthen its position as a global center for creativity and a fully integrated tourism destination, and serve as a leading model for balancing development with identity, hospitality with innovation, and opportunities with sustainability.
