YEREVAN: The 5th round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Armenia was held on Tuesday in the Armenian capital, Yerevan.


The Omani side was headed by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Armenian side was headed by Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.


During the session, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation in various fields and discussed ways to further develop this cooperation.


Shaikh Khalifa welcomed Armenia's decision to open a resident embassy in Muscat and to exempt Omani citizens from tourist visas for entry to Armenia.


He also informed the Armenian side of Oman's decision to include Armenian citizens on its list of countries exempted from entry visas to the Sultanate of Oman. The two sides also discussed a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest. - ONA
