MUSCAT: The skies of Oman are currently graced by the Perseid meteor shower, visible to the naked eye across various governorates — particularly in dark locations away from light pollution.

The phenomenon, which continues until August 24, will reach its peak from Tuesday evening until the early hours of Wednesday morning. It is one of the most captivating astronomical events for stargazers and astrophotography enthusiasts worldwide.

The Perseid meteor shower is one of the most prolific meteor showers of the year. The shower is active from mid-July until late August and will peak on the night of August 12, before dawn on August 13.
