SUHAR: The third edition of the 'Future Pioneers' camp kicked off on Sunday at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Suhar, with the participation of 50 students from the Directorate-General of Education in Al Batinah North Governorate.

The five-day camp aims to cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among students.

The initiative aligns with national efforts to prepare youth for the knowledge economy by equipping them with the tools and mindset to launch technology-driven start-ups and address real-world development challenges.

The camp offers a blend of theoretical lectures and hands-on workshops covering innovation, investment and early-stage business development. Students will receive training in entrepreneurship, small and medium enterprise (SMEs) skills, and project ideation aimed at serving community and economic needs.

The participants will gain insight into Oman’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, including funding bodies, accelerators and incubators, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Organised by start-ups in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, the camp concludes with an award ceremony recognising the top three student-led start-up ideas with financial incentives. - ONA
