Muscat: Following requests, the General Federation of Oman Workers (GFOW) managed to get the non-termination of contracts of 80 Omani workers in the month of June 2025.

It also dealt with the contract termination of 16 Omani workers and 14 expatriates, while 80 workers were reinstated following requests from the private sector to reduce the number of workers due to economic conditions.

The union confirmed in a statement that it dealt with 57 legal consultations and advice during the same month, which included issues affecting the rights and demands of the Omanis, including wages, economic conditions, vacations, termination of employment contracts, and working hours, in addition to requests related to improving the work environment, transferring projects, forming labor unions, and the termination of projects.

GFOW said it is monitoring the conditions of workers across various sectors and providing the necessary legal and union support when needed, in coordination with relevant authorities.
