MUSCAT: Brookfield Global Investment Fund has acquired a majority stake in Oman Tower Company, a leading independent operator of telecommunications towers in the Sultanate, with a network of more than 2,450 sites across various governorates.

Brookfield is the world’s second-largest owner of telecommunications towers, managing a portfolio of over 315,000 towers globally. With assets under management exceeding $1 trillion, it is also one of the biggest foreign investors in the GCC. Since entering the region in 1997, it has built a $15 billion portfolio spanning infrastructure, real estate, and private equity.

Engineer Majid bin Amer al Kharousi, CEO of Oman Tower Company, called the deal a "strategic partnership" that marks a turning point in the company’s growth journey.

“This partnership is more than just an investment; it’s a springboard for scaling our operations, improving governance, and aligning with national priorities for digital infrastructure and sustainability,” he said.

The deal underscores increasing investor interest in Oman’s digital infrastructure sector and positions the company for future expansion both domestically and regionally. — ONA
