ONA: The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, received the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi on Thursday at the ministry’s headquarters.


During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance trade and investment relations between Oman and Afghanistan, focusing on opportunities for cooperation and partnerships across various sectors.


The discussions also covered improving the business environment, attracting investments, facilitating trade procedures, and supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two countries, with the goal of increasing bilateral trade volume.


Following the meeting, the Acting Foreign Minister and his delegation toured the "Invest in Oman" hall, where they were briefed on key investment opportunities in various economic sectors.


The delegation was also introduced to Oman's investment and tourism landscape, along with updates on economic and investment regulations and the facilities provided by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion to investors across different sectors.


The meeting was attended by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Afghan Embassy in Muscat, alongside Dr Saleh bin Said Masan, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, as well as several officials from both sides.
