MUSCAT: The Environment Authority (EA) confirmed that the environmental situation in the Sultanate of Oman is stable, and no indications of elevated radiation levels or any abnormal environmental impact have been recorded so far. It noted that it is closely monitoring recent developments related to the targeting of nuclear sites in the region, in light of the ongoing escalation and the potential transboundary environmental repercussions.

EA also confirmed that it is working within an integrated national system, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to monitor and analyse environmental and radiation data in real-time. This is achieved through the radiation monitoring and early warning system deployed across the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to continuous connectivity with relevant regional and international centres.

EA indicated that its efforts are continuing to monitor and conduct 24/7 monitoring, based on its role in protecting the environment and ensuring the safety of humans and natural resources in the Sultanate of Oman. — ONA
