MUSCAT: The Military Haj Mission returned home from the Holy Land after performing the pilgrimage, on Tuesday.

The mission was received upon arrival at Seeb Air Base by retired Maj Gen Hamad bin Sulaiman al Hatmi and a number of senior officers from the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security agencies.

A number of Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) aircrafts transported the members of the Military Haj Mission. The mission comprised pilgrims and administrators from the SAF and other military and security bodies.

The Military Haj Mission is organised annually on Royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Supreme Commander, under the supervision of the Moral Guidance and Military Ceremonies Department at the Office of Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces.

The administrative and health measures related to the mission were taken in coordination with the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, the Oman Haj Mission, the Embassy of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Sultanate of Oman as well as other relevant authorities.

The Military Haj Mission was accompanied by an integrated administrative team comprising administrative, medical, media and technical staff. — ONA
