MUSCAT: Rains continued to fall in several wilayats across the Sultanate of Oman’s governorates causing several wadis to overflow, on Monday.


Rainfall continued in several villages in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq in Al Batinah South Governorate for the second day on Monday. The rainfall was concentrated across the wilayat’s centre and Wadi Bani Auf causing several wadis to overflow. Some villages also witnessed rainfall of varying intensity.


Rainfall ranging from heavy to moderate was reported in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, with heavy rains concentrated on the Eastern Mountain and the villages of Jabal Shams, resulting in the overflowing of Wadi Al Madaam and Wadi Shama.



Rain also fell on the village of Bani Subh and the Eastern Mountain. The Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall. Moderate to heavy rains were also reported in Hail Al Masbat area leading to the flow of wadis in the Khab Hail Mahlab area and other areas.


Light scattered rains were reported in Saiq, Saih Qatna, Al Sharihah, Al Aqar and Al Ain in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar.


In Al Batinah North Governorate, moderate to heavy rains fell on the mountainous areas of Wadi Haibi in the Wilayat of Suhar and on the tops of mountains including Wadi Al Halti causing many wadis to flow. Scattered rains also fell on Wadi Al Sarmi in the Wilayat of Al Khabourah.
