

MANAH: The Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers on Monday received the 47th batch of students from 12 nationalities around the world namely: the United States, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Lithuania, Hungary, France, Comoros, India, Thailand, El Salvador, Poland and Türkiye.
The scheduled programme includes a scientific course to prepare teachers of Arabic to non-native speakers of Arabic language, which includes two groups of Arabic language professors from Indonesia and Uzbekistan, in addition to a comprehensive Arabic language study programme.

On their first day at the institute, the new students were familiarised with the faculty, administrators and supervisors of the cultural programme and the institute’s facilities and services.
The curriculum includes a number of activities, lectures, cultural evenings, educational trips to various historical and natural sites, Arabic calligraphy classes, art workshops and a language partner programme. The curriculum also encompasses frameworks for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, teaching language elements and skills, and methodological approaches to teaching Arabic. — ONA
