MUSCAT: The prestigious Adams Sons Quran Competition celebrated its 21st edition on March 13, Thursday, under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Said al Maamari, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, along with esteemed dignitaries and scholars. Since its inception in 2004, the competition has been a beacon of inspiration, encouraging young individuals and adults to master the recitation and memorisation of the Holy Quran.
Ismail Mohamed Adam Al Saigh, Managing Director of Adams Sons Jewellery, in his welcome address highlighted the competition’s enduring legacy.
The competition featured four categories, memorisation of the entire Quran, memorisation of 15 chapters, recitation for ages 15 and above and recitation for ages 14 and below.
With an overwhelming response, around 200 participants from eight nationalities competed, showcasing their dedication to the Quran. A distinguished panel of renowned Shaikhs from Oman meticulously evaluated the recitations.
Winners of the 21st edition are: memorisation of the entire Quran – Abdulrahman Al Basheer Harshah, memorisation of 15 chapters – Mohammed bin Khamis al Yaqoubi, recitation for ages 15 and above – Suhaib bin Hilal al Siyabi, recitation for ages 14 and below – Moaid bin Hilal al Hasani.
This year's significant milestone was the digital upgrade of the registration process, allowing participants to register online and select their preferred time slots for the first round. With an audience of over 300 attendees, including families and well-wishers, the event was a resounding success, fostering a deep sense of faith and unity.
