MUSCAT: The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science on Sunday announced the names of winners of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition (32nd edition).


The first winners in each category were announced as follows: Younis bin Abdullah al Majrifi in Level 1 for memorising the entire Holy Quran; Ibrahim bin Said al Sawafi in Level 2 for memorising 24 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran; Mohammed bin Khalfan al Ghuzaili in Level 3 for memorising 18 consecutive parts; Maisam bint Ahmed al Habsiyah in Level 4 for memorising 12 consecutive parts; Jinan bint Yaqoub al Shabibiyah in Level 5 for memorising 6 consecutive parts; Said bin Salim al Wahaibi in Level 6 for memorising 4 consecutive parts and Wid bint Khalid al Maamariyah in Level 7 for memorising 2 consecutive parts.


The competition is aimed at encouraging Omanis to memorise the Holy Quran and pursue the guidance of its teachings, in addition to enhancing the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in international Quranic contests. - ONA
