The Sultanate of Oman has selected three key themes for its participation in the International Expo 2025, which will be held on Kansai Island in Osaka, Japan. This six-month global event will run from April 13 to October 13. The Oman Pavilion will highlight themes centered around the Omani people, the Omani land, and the vital role of water.
Recognizing the significance of this event, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) hosted its first ‘Ramadhan Evening’ under the theme "The Importance of the Japan Expo for the Private Sector." The World Expo, held every five years in one of the world’s leading cities, has long been a platform for countries to showcase their industrial and commercial advancements, creativity, and contributions to humanity. Oman has maintained a strong and continuous presence at this prestigious exhibition for several decades.
The Osaka Expo 2025 is set to welcome more than 160 participating countries, along with hundreds of governmental and international organizations, as well as civil society institutions. These participants will present cutting-edge innovations and ideas that serve global progress.
Oman’s pavilion will feature exhibits that capture its unique cultural identity, highlight Omani-Japanese relations across various sectors, and provide an educational experience for students and future generations. The pavilion will offer insights into Oman’s history, geography, traditions, natural resources, and political relations with Japan and other countries. Oman, as a nation dedicated to fostering global peace and cross-cultural dialogue, aims to showcase its role in international cooperation.
A key architectural element of Oman’s pavilion is inspired by the His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Award. The pavilion will span 1,800 square meters, with exhibit spaces covering 626 square meters.
World Expos provide a valuable platform for maximizing investment and commercial opportunities by fostering economic and social collaborations, sharing data, and showcasing potential business ventures. This is particularly relevant in Japan—a nation renowned for its technological advancements and industrial achievements. Since the mid-20th century, Japan has emerged as a global leader in innovation, overcoming the devastation of World War II, including the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Oman is keen to learn from Japan’s remarkable transformation while also presenting its own vision for economic and technological progress. The Omani-Japanese Forum, to be held as part of Expo 2025, will highlight various investment opportunities across multiple sectors. The active participation of Omani companies, entrepreneurs, traders, university students, and innovators will be a key feature of the event. Additionally, a dedicated showcase for Omani products and goods will further promote the country’s economic potential.
Through the World Expo, nations engage in cultural, social, and economic cooperation, with millions of visitors—both Japanese and international—expected to explore the diverse pavilions. Cutting-edge technologies and innovations will be at the heart of the exhibits, reinforcing the Expo’s role in shaping the future of humanity.
