MUSCAT, MARCH 11

The Muscat Ramadhan Football Championship 2025 kicked off with thrilling matches, organised by Makasb in collaboration with the OAA. The competition is being held at the OAA Stadium, where teams are battling for the best results to boost their chances of advancing to the next rounds.

The first two days of the tournament featured intense encounters, resulting in dominant victories and exciting draws, reflecting the high level of competition.

The second day of the championship was marked by a heartwarming humanitarian initiative from the tournament organisers. A group of children from the Down Syndrome Association attended the event and participated in a friendly match and a kids' sprint race. This initiative aimed to integrate children with Down syndrome into sports activities and emphasise their important role in society.

In a match showcasing clear dominance, the OAA secured a 6-1 victory over Fun Al Hadith. Goals were shared among Shihab al Buraiki, Abdullah al Buraiki, and Hamza Amer, while Ahmed al Mazroui scored Fun Al Hadith’s lone goal.

Meanwhile, the Security & Safety team claimed a 2-0 win over Al Ghali, thanks to goals from Juwaid al Buraiki and Bashar al Muharibi, securing three valuable points to strengthen their position in the competition.

Group 2 matches were evenly balanced, with Shabab Al Khamisa and Blanco ending in a 1-1 draw. Basil al Jabri scored for Shabab Al Khamisa, while Mazin al Balushi equalised for Blanco.

Another 1-1 draw occurred between Tahadi Al Matar and KN3, with Hussam al Rashdi scoring for Tahadi Al Matar and Awad al Houti levelling the match for KN3. Both teams started their campaign with a single point.

In a well-balanced Group 3 fixture, Amjighos defeated Al Alami 2-0, with Ahmed al Harrasi and Waddah al Siyabi finding the net, securing an essential victory to boost their qualification hopes.

In an exciting Group 4 clash, Al Kiraz secured an important 3-1 victory over Rozna Hotel. Al Baraa al Hadi starred with two goals, while Adel al Souti added the third. Muhannad al Hasani scored Rozna Hotel’s only goal, which wasn’t enough to change the course of the match.

The most remarkable result in Group 4 was Ruba’ Haima’s stunning 19-2 win over Al Haditha for Energy, marking one of the biggest victories in the tournament so far. Star player Qaisar al Balushi stole the spotlight, scoring 13 goals, while Imad al Balushi and Moayad al Balushi contributed to the massive win. Meanwhile, Aflah al Harrasi and Hood al Toubi scored the two consolation goals for Al Haditha for Energy.

In another Group 4 encounter, Al Ittihad and Rozna Restaurant played out a thrilling 3-3 draw. Rozna Restaurant’s goals came from Amjad al Khalili, Al Haitham al Riyami, and Waleed Ibrahim, while Al Ittihad’s goals were scored by Al Mutasim al Hosni, Omar al Humaidi, and Abdulrahman al Yaqoubi. Each team earned a point in a match filled with continuous attacking exchanges.
