Muscat Classic Bodybuilding Championship in Al Amerat to begin in January

MUSCAT: Oman’s young bodybuilders are gearing up to take part in the first edition of Muscat Classic Bodybuilding Championship which will take place on January 30 and 31, 2025 in the Wilayat of Al Amerat. The two-day event will be organised by domestic experienced national bodybuilding coach, Haitham bin Sadiq al Zadjali, who is two-time Mr. Olympia champion and World Champion titleholder. The event is under supervision and approval of Oman Bodybuilding Committee (OBC).

Coach Haitham bin Sadiq al Zadjali stated on importance of this event as he said: ”I am very pleased that I have received an approval from OBC to organise this event in Al Amerat. There are a lot of potential young bodybuilders in this city and this championship will act as a great platform to vie for the top places. Special thanks goes to OBC for their collaboration as well as the support received from Mohammed bin Ramadan al Balushi, a member of Majlis Ash’shura representing Al Amerat.”

“All the participants are gearing up for the event from now and they will continue their preparations to vie for the top positions. We are eager to see strong participation from young talents in this championship offering them an ideal platform to compete across various categories. Prizes have been allocated for the top three winners in each division. I am also working to have a better support from private sector and the sponsors in the coming weeks,” he concluded.


The debut bodybuilding championship in Al Amerat will feature various categories including men’s bodybuilding in weight classes 65 kg, 75 kg and above 75 kg. In the physique competitions, categories will be based on heights including up to 170 cm, 174 cm and above 174 cm.
