MUSCAT: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has launched a dedicated webpage for tracking and showcasing indicators related to Omani women, in celebration of International Women’s Day, observed on March 8.

This new online resource aims to provide detailed insights into the status of women in Oman across six key areas: demography, health, education, employment, social protection and political participation. The webpage currently displays three basic indicators for each category, allowing users to explore trends over time and select data for specific years.

According to Susan bint Dawood al Lawatiyah, Director General of Information at NCSI, the platform offers easy access to valuable data and empowers users to download the available information, reinforcing the concept of open data. This initiative is designed to support research, decision-making and sustainable development efforts, as well as contribute to the social and economic empowerment of Omani women. — ONA
