MHT targets European markets at Berlin expo

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism began its participation in the Berlin International Tourism Exchange 2025.


The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman includes, in addition to the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, representatives of 54 institutions specializing in travel, tourism, and hotels and four of the strategic partners: Omran Group, Oman Air, Oman Airports, and the National Travel Operator.


The Sultanate of Oman's participation in this exhibition is important as it seeks expansion in the European and international market in general and the German market in particular, as statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information have shown that the with 135,133 visitors, Germany tops the number of visitors coming to the Sultanate of Oman from European countries by the end of last year, occupying fourth place in the total number of tourists coming to the Sultanate of Oman after the Emirates, India and Yemen, while the number of visitors from European countries in December alone reached 103,784.


The Minister of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) touched on Oman Air’s vision and strategic approach aimed at consolidating its position as a permanent choice for travelers, enhancing its international presence, and consolidating its reputation in the areas of quality and sustainability while committing to applying standards for preserving a clean environment.


He stressed the company’s commitment to providing distinguished products and services to its guests, supporting national talents, contributing to the development of the tourism and logistics sectors, enhancing the investment environment, and benefiting from the accumulated experiences gained, reflecting the values ​​of authentic hospitality and ancient Omani traditions.


For his part, Shabib bin Mohammed al Maamari, General Manager of the National Travel Operator, said that it seeks to link Omani tourism institutions digitally with global search and reservation engines in the target markets by creating advanced programs that take into account international standards.
