Cairo: The Sultanate of Oman has reaffirmed its firm stance in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Oman also firmly rejects any attempts to forcibly displace the residents of Gaza or the occupied Palestinian territories.

This position was highlighted during Oman's participation in the emergency Arab summit in Cairo, which aims to unify the Arab stance on the latest developments regarding the Palestinian cause, particularly the absolute rejection of Israel’s plan for the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.

Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Oman’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, emphasized that the Palestinian issue is a just cause tied to the principles of international law. He stressed that achieving a just and comprehensive peace requires international commitment to safeguarding Palestinian rights and preventing the imposition of new realities through settlement expansion, blockades, or forced displacement.

His Excellency further noted that the summit represents a significant opportunity to unify diplomatic efforts and take decisive measures that reflect a solid Arab commitment to supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people and addressing the challenges imposed upon them.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Dr Saeed Abu Ali, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League for Palestine Affairs, stated that the emergency summit is being held amidst unprecedented threats to the Palestinian cause. He emphasized the categorical Arab rejection of any attempt to link Gaza’s reconstruction to the displacement of its residents, stressing the necessity of coordinated Arab efforts to protect Palestinian rights and ensure continued political and economic support.

He also noted that Arab leaders bear a historic responsibility to confront Israeli schemes, affirming that Gaza remains an inseparable part of Palestine and that displacement plans will fail in the face of unified Arab support and unwavering backing for Palestinian resilience.
