RAO opens three Border Guards Brigade camps

MUSCAT: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) celebrated the opening of Saa, Ain Al Hilwa and Al Safa camps of RAO’s Border Guards Brigade, on Wednesday.


The inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Nasser al Zaabi, Secretary-General at the Ministry of Defence, in the presence of Major General Matar bin Salim al Balushi, Commander of RAO and a number of senior officers.


The move comes as part of the plans for continuous modernisation and development laid down by the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other units of the Ministry of Defence.


Dr Mohammed bin Nasser al Zaabi, Secretary-General at the Ministry of Defence, unveiled the memorial plaques for each of the three camps following which he and the attendees listened to a briefing on the facilities and installations of the camps and the national roles and tasks they undertake. Then the chief guest toured the camp facilities and their various installations and was briefed on the equipment and supplies at the camps. — ONA
