Muscat: There was an increase of 1.3 percent in the number of Arab visitors (1.95 million) coming to the Sultanate of Oman, which also constituted 50.2 percent of the total arrivals to the country.
The visitors included 1.1 million UAE nationals, 203,000 from Yemen, 109,900 from Saudi Arabia, 74,000 from Egypt, 35,200 from Kuwait, and 33,300 from Bahrain.
As for guests in three to five-star hotels, there was an increase of 16.6 percent to 14,120 GCC guests in January 2025 compared to the same month.
There was an increase of 49.4 percent in Arab guests, 12.5 percent in Asian guests, 18.6 European guests, and 10.1 American guests.
Overall, there was a 6 percent in the number of guests in three to five-star hotels, 13.4 percent in revenues, and 10.6 percent in occupancy rate, which was 63.3 percent in January 2025 compared to 57.2 percent in 2024.
Overall, Muscat Airport received 1,109,650 international passengers in January this year, Salalah Airport had 59,429 passengers, and Duqm received 4,774 passengers.
