Muscat: The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) in its annual meeting on Monday revealed that it is prohibited to cut off services on the last working day of the weekend, weekly holidays, between 5 pm and 7 am, and during the General Education Diploma (GED) exams and the month of Ramadan.

The important future projects and initiatives include maximizing the benefit of Wadi Dayqah Dam by awarding a water purification and energy storage project, a feasibility study for exploiting geothermal energy, exploiting waste in energy and biofuel for cement, and community stations to produce solar energy to benefit health facilities.
The percentage achieved in the field of beneficiary satisfaction is 75 percent, up from 70 percent with 97 percent in the continuity of water flow.
The percentage of transition to smart meters is 75 percent in the electricity sector, and 80 percent in the water sector.
Subscriber growth rate increased by 6 percent, demand by 5 percent, and the number of stations by 9 percent in the water sector during the period from 2020 to 2024.
Growth in the natural gas transmission sector also increased to reach 3 percent in network capacity, 5.9 percent in line lengths, and 22 percent in the volume transferred.
The cost of implementing electricity sector projects during the years from 2020 to 2024 amounted to RO1.785 billion, of which RO450 million was for generation, RO562 million for transmission, and RO773 million for distribution.
APSR was able to improve the average time required to deliver electricity to homes to reach two days, which is the same target rate in 2024, in addition to improving the average time required to deliver water to homes to 5 days from a target of 7 days, and the percentage of treated wastewater was raised to 98%.
