The Taqah Charity Team organised the ‘Community Benevolence and Giving Forum’ on Sunday at the Office of the Wali of Taqah, under the auspices of Shaikh Tariq bin Khalid al Hinai, Wali of Taqah.

The event brought together officials, dignitaries, and volunteers to celebrate and reinforce the spirit of community service.

The forum commenced with a keynote address by the charity team’s chairman, Ahmed bin Salem al Maashani, who highlighted the team’s milestones and ongoing initiatives.

He emphasised the progress made in key areas such as the construction of the Bayt al Khair shelter for underprivileged families, youth education programmes, medical aid initiatives, and debt relief projects.

Al Maashani credited these achievements to the unwavering support of the Wali of Taqah, partnerships with sponsors, and the dedicated efforts of volunteers.

A visual presentation showcased the team’s charitable initiatives, followed by contributions from various community institutions engaged in volunteer work.

Participating entities included the Taqah Sports Club, the Al-Wafa Center for Disability Rehabilitation, Parents’ Councils, the Zakat Committee and the Omani Women’s Association.

Each organisation provided an overview of its efforts in advancing social welfare and community development.

The event concluded with a ceremony where the guest of honour, alongside the chairman of the charity team, recognised the contributions of participants, sponsors and volunteers who played a pivotal role in the team’s success.

As a gesture of appreciation, the team presented a commemorative gift to Shaikh Tariq bin Khalid al Hinai for his continued support and leadership.

The forum underscored the vital role of community engagement and volunteerism in the Wilayat of Taqah, highlighting the power of collective action in fostering sustainable development and uplifting those in need.
