

MUSCAT: The Sultan Qaboos University Council convened for its second meeting of the 2024-2025 academic year, chaired by Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
The meeting focused on the university's progress, including updates on academic sectors and the implementation of key decisions aimed at enhancing scientific programmes. The Council emphasised expanding specialisations and increasing academic offerings to boost the university's scientific standing while meeting labour market needs.
Notably, the Council approved new PhD programmes in Law and in Operations Management and Supply Chains at the College of Economics and Political Science. Additionally, the Council endorsed the Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct for the university.
