

MUSCAT: Oman’s electricity production surged by 7.5% in 2024, reaching 45,388 gigawatts per hour by the end of November, up from 42,208.9 gigawatts per hour in 2023, according to preliminary statistics from the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
Regional production trends varied, with North and South Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah contributing 28,270 gigawatts per hour, reflecting a 6.2% increase. In contrast, Muscat Governorate recorded a 6.7% decline, while Dhofar Governorate saw an 11.5% rise.
Meanwhile, Oman’s water production reached 478.5 million cubic meters by November 2024, reflecting steady demand for utilities amid continued economic and population growth. — ONA
