His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, will preside over the closing ceremony of the eighth edition of the Al Bashayer Annual Festival for Arabian camel racing 2025 at Al Bashayer Arabian Camel Racecourse in the Wilayat of Adam on Saturday.
The concluding ceremony will be held in the afternoon with four main races for 8 km for the old category, with two races offering SUV car prizes and two cups for the winners. The winner of the fourth race will receive the golden sword and an SUV car, while the third race winner will get the silver sword and an SUV car.
After five days of intense competition, 5,320 camels from across the GCC countries competed in 84 rounds during six days to win 20 cars, three daggers, three guns, seven cups and the golden and silver swords. Additionally, the top 10 in all 84 rounds are awarded cash prizes.
The first day was for the ‘Hagayeg’ category, two years old, for 4 km, 32 rounds races with 6 cars, a cup and a gun as prizes.
The second day was for the ‘Lagaya’ category, three years old, for 5 km, 22 rounds with five cars, two cups and a gun.
The third day was for the ‘Yathaa’ category, 4 years old, for 6 km race, 15 rounds with four cars, two cups and a gun.
On the fourth day, races were held in 11 rounds with a car and three daggers as prizes.
The festival's accompanying activities showed wide participation from the festival's audience to follow the artistic and poetic evenings, the marketing corners and the Bedouin village corner.
In addition, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority is organising the Entrepreneurs Exhibition with the participation of women's associations.
