The Oman-Bahrain Friendship Society, a key platform for fostering diplomatic, trade and cultural ties between Oman and Bahrain, has received royal recognition for its outstanding contributions to bilateral relations.
In a gesture of appreciation, King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa of Bahrain sent a letter of thanks to Rudeina bint Amer al Hajriyah, President of the Society, acknowledging its pivotal role in strengthening the enduring bond between the two nations.
Speaking to Observer, Rudeina emphasised that Oman and Bahrain share deep-rooted historical ties, enriched by mutual respect, cultural affinity and strategic collaboration. She highlighted that the Society’s initiatives have led to numerous successes across both government and private sectors.
“The Oman-Bahrain relationship stands as a distinguished model of international cooperation. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to nurturing these ties,” she said.
Established to enhance cooperation across cultural, social, economic and scientific spheres, the Society actively promotes youth and sports initiatives, organises cultural and literary events, and facilitates artistic and academic exchanges. It also engages with media through publications, exhibitions and broadcasting collaborations to strengthen public awareness of Oman-Bahrain relations.
“The Society plays a key role in fostering dialogue and preserving shared heritage through film screenings, theatrical productions and literary programmes,” Rudeina added.
The letter was formally presented by Dr Juma bin Ahmed al Kaabi, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Oman, during an official ceremony last Thursday.
