Omani rally driver Abdullah al Zubair will participate in high spirits when he attends the second round of the Middle East Rally Championship hosted in Qatar this weekend. Champion Abdullah al Zubair’s eyes are directed towards the front positions in this round after he and his Omani navigator Taha Soomar were able to score a distinguished result. Abdullah ranked first in the Merc 2 category (Group N) previously.

Abdullah al Zubair will be behind the wheel of a Subaru Impreza (N14), which he drove in the first round in Oman, where he also won the Best Omani Driver award. Al Zubair had previously announced his participation in all rounds of this season, starting with the first round in Oman and the second in Qatar. Then, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the first time next May, followed by his participation in the fourth round in Jordan, in which he had previously competed. Regarding his preparations to participate in this rally, Rally driver Abdullah al Zubair said, “We have decided to participate in the Qatar International Rally. We have ample information about it and we have the ambition to provide a good race in this rally. We gained additional experience in the Oman International Rally through the stages of the Suhar Rally after a period of non-participation in the races. We also faced some problems there, but we are trying, first and foremost, to reach the finish line safely, and we hope to succeed in eventually reaching the podium if possible. I have a distinguished navigator who has previously participated in many races, and we wish the rest of the competitors success.” I thank ARA Petroleum for their support and hope to work to be in the front lines, as I said before.
