MUSCAT: The Environment Authority (EA), in collaboration with the Royal Oman Police (ROP), has successfully shut down 17 unauthorised sites engaged in selling wood in the Arzat Plain, Wilayat of Salalah, confiscating three tonnes of timber. This operation is part of a continuous campaign to combat illegal logging and limit the exploitation of plant resources in different governorates.

It is important to mention that the regulations overseeing logging and charcoal production strictly forbid the export of firewood and charcoal, as well as logging without an official permit from the Environment Authority. This action is intended to safeguard the environment and guarantee the sustainability of its natural resources.
