The General Education Diploma exams will start on Thursday and continue until February 6.

A total of 61,257 students from government schools, private schools, special education schools and continuing education will face the tests in 366 exam centres across governorates. Approximately 6,200 teachers have been assigned to correct students' answer books in four centres in two periods, morning and evening.

The Ministry of Education said the centres have been set up to help students take the tests in an atmosphere of comfort and calm.

Students must arrive early to the examination centre to verify the hall tickets and follow rules.

The Ministry of Education has formed committees to follow up on all examination work, including the Preparation and Arrangement Committee. The committee is formed at the level of the educational governorates represented by the Educational Measurement and Evaluation Departments, and at the level of the ministry, represented by the Educational Measurement and Evaluation Centre. Its main task is to prepare for the educational evaluation work for the academic year.

Furthermore, the Examinations Management Committee in the educational governorates has been formed to carry out the tasks of managing the work of the General Education Diploma exams. It will supervise the correction of answer sheets.
