The second day of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth's Eights Football Tournament for Government Institutions 2025 witnessed intense competition among the participating teams across various groups, as they continued to deliver outstanding performances.
In Group Five, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) team secured a 1-0 victory over the Ministry of Finance team, while the match between the Consumer Protection Authority and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals ended in a goalless draw.
In Group Six, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority team achieved a valuable 2-1 victory against the Public Services Regulation Authority team, whereas the match between the State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution and the Ministry of Labour also ended in a goalless draw.
In Group Seven, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism team triumphed with a massive 8-1 victory over the Royal Academy of Oman team, while the match between the Royal Court Affairs team and the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs team ended in a 1-1 draw.
Group Eight saw a clear dominance from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology team, which defeated the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers team 4-0. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information team shows their strong performance with 4-0 victory, against the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority team.
Khamis Salalawi, captain of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources team, commented, “I extend my sincere thanks to the organisers of this tournament. We did not expect such a high level of organisation, as the event has been hosted in an ideal environment with top-notch facilities, making the tournament a remarkable experience from the start.”
He added, “everything is set for great performances and enjoyable football matches without any obstacles. For me, even though this is my first time participating in this tournament, I can confidently say it has been successful in every aspect since its inception.”
Regarding the importance of such tournaments, Salalawi highlighted that they provide an excellent opportunity to promote physical activity among employees of various ministries.
He remarked, “These tournaments are not just about sports competition; they significantly contribute to revitalising employees and alleviating work stress. Additionally, they create opportunities for networking and building relationships among staff from different government institutions and departments, fostering greater collaboration and mutual understanding.”
He concluded, “the professional organisation and encouraging atmosphere reflect the tremendous efforts put into hosting this tournament, and I hope this standard continues in future editions.”
