The Ministry of Education (MoE) celebrated the launch of “Stations in Oman” book. The launch ceremony was attended by Dr Said bin Saif al Amri, Head of the Office of the Minister of Education, and a number of directors general and officials from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MoHT), and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MoCSY).
The launch ceremony included a speech by the ninistry, delivered by Dr Warda al Busaidy, Director of the Citizenship Department, and a poem recited by student Mohammed al Qatabi. Students Enas al Rahbi and Hasna al Kharousi presented a silent play that tells the story of the Omani people’s adherence to their identity and history, and their preservation of authentic Omani customs and traditions. A visual presentation followed which included the book’s chapters, contents and objectives.
Dr Said al Amri, Head of the Office of HE the Minister of Education, said: “The “Stations in Oman” book represents a qualitative leap in the field of citizenship education and is a strategic step aimed at strengthening the national identity and instilling the values of citizenship in the younger generations, using an enjoyable narrative style and smooth language. It provides educational content that enhances understanding and pride in our history and culture, contributing to building a creative generation capable of contributing to achieving Oman’s future vision.” The book “Stations in Oman” provides a comprehensive view of the historical and cultural milestones that the Sultanate of Oman has gone through, as it reviews various aspects of the Sultanate of Oman’s history and achievements, including: the growing stage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the achievements of the renewed Omani Renaissance in various fields, and inspiring stories that highlight the national and social values that enrich the identity of the Omani student. The book combines enjoyable storytelling with expressive drawings that add a creative touch to the content, making it an integrated educational tool that aims to enhance national belonging and refine the personality of the young.
The book’s launch coincides with the Sultanate of Oman’s celebrations of the fifth anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s accession, which falls on January 11. This occasion reflects the ongoing efforts to promote the values of loyalty and belonging, and to consolidate Oman’s position among nations.
The Citizenship Department aims, through issuing this book, to instill the values of citizenship in the souls of the youth, and to prepare conscious generations that contribute to building the Oman of the future in accordance with the aspirations of Oman Vision 2040.
