MUSCAT: The International Nursing Conference concluded with a call for the enhancement of nursing education and the adoption of cutting-edge scientific research and global practices to elevate healthcare quality. The event underscored Oman’s commitment to delivering distinguished healthcare in the region.


Bringing together over 500 nursing professionals, academics and researchers from Oman and abroad, the conference was organised by the University Medical City, represented by the Nursing Department at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital.


It served as a platform for knowledge exchange and discussions on the latest advancements in nursing care, focusing on themes that reflect the ongoing evolution of the nursing profession and its impact on healthcare quality.


The conference spotlighted, nursing leadership, quality and patient safety, continuing education, innovative practices.


The event featured 12 expert speakers, including five international and seven local contributors, who shared valuable insights and research. Topics ranged from advancements in nursing practices to field-applicable innovative solutions. Accompanying the conference were eight specialised workshops covering critical areas like emergency nursing, cardiac surgery, occupational health, organ transplantation, and women’s health nursing.


Additionally, 10 research posters were presented, addressing leadership in nursing, quality practices, and continuing education, while exploring challenges and opportunities to enhance nursing care standards in Oman.


By fostering collaboration and innovation, the conference reaffirmed the pivotal role of nursing research in improving healthcare outcomes and strengthening Oman’s healthcare system as a model of excellence in the region. — ONA
