In recognition of its exceptional efforts and initiatives in serving the community and promoting a culture of blood donation, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) was honored by the Ministry of Health (MoH) , represented by the Central Blood Bank. This acknowledgment comes due to the company’s commitment to supporting blood banks through various initiatives and its annual blood donation campaigns. These efforts align with OETC’s dedication to fulfilling its social responsibility and supporting local communities and key sectors through initiatives that contribute to environmental, social, and governance sustainability.

OETC organizes 4 blood donation campaigns annually, with over 370 donors participating in the past two years. The campaigns over the last two years have resulted in the collection of more than 168 liters of donated blood, reflecting the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of cooperation, volunteerism, and community service. It also demonstrates the awareness of employees and community members in supporting such initiatives.

Eng. Masoud Salam al Riyami, Chief Operations Officer at OETC, emphasized the company’s ongoing efforts to support the community as part of its social responsibility. He highlighted the company's focus on implementing initiatives that benefit local communities and vital sectors such as education, health, and tourism. He also pointed out OETC’s deep commitment to playing a pivotal role in supporting comprehensive and sustainable development in Oman.

Al Riyami added: "We are delighted to receive this well-deserved recognition for our continued efforts that reflect OETC’s dedication to serving the Omani community. We reaffirm our commitment to this approach and our determination to enhance value in various areas, particularly in our operational sites across the Sultanate. This recognition underscores the leadership and vital role that OETC plays in the Omani developmental journey. We believe in the importance of supporting communities and creating impactful and sustainable initiatives that contribute to achieving national goals and aspirations, while raising community awareness and promoting a culture of volunteerism and collaboration".

It is worth mentioning that OETC, a member of Nama Group, is the only company responsible for the transmission and control of electricity across the Sultanate’s network. The electricity is transmitted from production stations to distributed load centers in the governorates. The transmission network operates at a voltage of 132kV and above to cover most of the governorates in the Sultanate, whether in the north or the south. Furthermore, OETC manages the interconnection lines between Oman and the GCC interconnection network, which operates at a voltage of 220kV.
