Seeb triumph over Nizwa in OBL final round

Muscat: Seeb Club secured a well-deserved victory over Nizwa Club with a score of 81-60 in the match held at the secondary hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. This game was part of the final qualifiers for the Oman Basketball League for the 2024-2025 season. With this win, Seeb raised their tally to 4 points from two victories, while Nizwa remained at 2 points after suffering two consecutive losses.


Seeb dominated the game from start to finish, excelling in all quarters thanks to the outstanding performances of several key players, most notably Romeo Wilfred, Marwan al Hadidi, Abdulrahman al Shoaibi and Rashid al Zuhaibi.


In the first quarter, Seeb started aggressively, capitalising on their players' focus. Romeo Wilfred scored 6 points, while Nizwa managed to score 2 points from a free throw and a three-pointer by Musab al Wahaibi. Nizwa continued attempting to close the gap, with Saif al Toubi scoring a two-pointer to tie the game at 6-6. However, Seeb regained the lead after Romeo Wilfred added 4 more points, pushing the score to 10-6. Both teams exchanged attacks and points, ending the first quarter with Seeb leading 23-16.


In the second quarter, Seeb extended their lead with 4 points from Abdulrahman al Shoaibi and Mazin al Hadidi, making it 27-16. Nizwa's Agassi Tounian responded with a three-pointer, but Seeb answered back with a two-pointer by Zakaria al Wahaibi, bringing the score to 29-19. Both teams continued trading offensive plays and the first half concluded with Seeb ahead 44-28.



In the third quarter, Seeb’s Moawiya al Harthy scored a two-pointer, followed by a three-pointer from Nizwa's Mohammed al Anqoudi. His teammate Saif al Toubi added two more points, narrowing the gap to 33-46. However, Seeb’s Romeo Wilfred responded with 4 points from under the basket, increasing the score to 50-33. Both teams continued exchanging points, and the quarter ended with Seeb leading 61-42.


In the fourth quarter, Seeb continued widening the gap with consecutive points from Romeo Wilfred and Abdulrahman al Shoaibi. Nizwa attempted to respond with a three-pointer from Agassi, but Seeb sealed the match with a decisive 81-60 victory.


The match was officiated by international referee Ahmed al Balushi as the first referee, Rashid al Mushaifri as the second referee, and Taha al Amri as the third referee. At the scorer’s table were Omaima al Hajriya, Yaqoub al Nadabi and Hafidh Awlad Ahmed.
