Omanization initiatives in health sector reviewed

Muscat: The Employment Governance Committee for the Health Sector reviewed a number of proposed initiatives on employment of dentistry and pharmaceutical graduates at a meeting with the Youth and Human Resources Committee of Majlis Ash’shura held on Monday.


Among these is an initiative to provide financial incentive packages for private health institutions owned by Omanis.


The meeting discussed total Omanization of the pharmacy profession in private pharmacies and commercial complexes as well as some training and qualification initiatives linked to employment aimed to raise the quality of services in the health care sector.


The committee listened to the proposals of the members of the Youth and Human Resources Committee and took into account their comments and views.


The Employment Governance Committee for the Health Sector is one of the sectoral committees concerned with employment and local value- added in the health sector. It is tasked with following up on employment mechanisms in various health sector institutions.
