MUSCAT: The versatility, colour and charm that illuminate the skies at Al Qurum Natural Park, Al Naseem Public Prak, Al Amerat Public Park, Oman Automobile Association and other venues from December 23, 2024, to today have yet another reason to dazzle throughout the evenings. Nearly 30 artists from ‘Rangrez’, a renowned artist group from the Indian Social Club Oman, are making their presence felt at Al Qurum Natural Park. These 30 highly talented artists showcase an exquisite array of art pieces inspired by colourful Indo-Oman themes, alongside stunning handicrafts that keep the excitement alive. All these displayed artworks are refreshed every week, providing a constant visual delight to visitors from around the globe. As Muscat Nights 2024 continues, Rangrez’s contributions stand out as a testament to cultural exchange and artistic brilliance.

“We, the artists of Rangrez, are extremely grateful to the Muscat Nights authorities, Muscat Municipality and Indian Social Club for supporting us to reach out to the public through our medium of communication, that is ‘art’. We are thankful to Babu Rajendran, the chairman of the ISC, whose efforts helped us get three stalls upon Rangrez to showcase our members’ works for the entirety of the festival, bolstering their enthusiasm and dedication,” said Shalini Karthik, one of the artists participating in the three pavilions inside the Global Village. A highlight of Rangrez's participation is their interactive stall, which has successfully attracted large crowds, particularly children and young adults.

This engaging space offers a variety of art-related activities aimed at fostering a love for creativity among visitors. Moreover, free art workshops such as knife painting, bottle art, printing on tote bags and canvas painting are being scheduled over the weekends at the Rangrez booth, further enhancing the festival’s artistic offerings. The response to Rangrez’s exhibits has been overwhelmingly positive, with visitors praising the art and handicrafts on display. Known for their successful event executions, Rangrez has once again proven their excellence with this event. “Muscat Nights 2024 holds special significance as it beautifully bridges the cultures of India and Oman, receiving widespread appreciation from both Omani nationals and residents,” they said. Since the beginning of Muscat Nights, workshops such as The Craft Alcove, Knife Strokes (creating vibrant Darwish art with palette knife magic) and Painted Threads (turning fabric into fashion with visitors’ own painted designs) have been conducted. On January 2, a training session on Clay and Canvas Fusion (exploring the unique fusion of clay and canvas) and on January 3, 'Wooden Wonders', a workshop that helps craft beautiful paintings on wood for lasting art, were held. On January 4, Tote of Tradition (decorate your tote bag with intricate Indian block prints) was also organised.

Upcoming workshops include:
January 9: Patterned Canvas (bring vibrant designs to life on canvas with stencils)
January 10: Magnetic Creations (design unique and colourful magnets to brighten your fridge)
January 11: Card Canvases (express your creativity with spray-painted greeting cards)
