

THAMRAIT: The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs marked a momentous occasion in the Wilayat of Thamrait, Dhofar Governorate, with the opening of two mosques and the Thamrait School for Teaching the Holy Quran.
The inauguration was graced by Ahmed bin Saleh al Rashdi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.
The Al Noor Al Mubeen Mosque, located in the Hayla Al Rakah area, spans 789 square metres and accommodates 440 male and 64 female worshippers. Situated strategically on the Salalah-Muscat road, the mosque serves both local residents and travellers, offering public facilities and shops for operational sustainability.

The Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque, at the heart of Thamrait, covers an impressive 1,947 square metres. It accommodates 633 male and 120 female worshippers. This mosque is equipped with modern facilities, including a Quran teaching school, commercial shops and ample parking.
The newly launched school boasts 10 classrooms and can host up to 200 students of various age groups. With a multi-purpose hall, library and other facilities, the school aims to impart Quranic knowledge and foster intellectual, spiritual and behavioural development among students.
The event concluded with the under-secretary honouring individuals and organisations who contributed to the establishment of the Thamrait School for Teaching the Holy Quran.
